Chartered in November 2015, the Allmon-Burgess Memorial Post is one of the newest in the state of Texas.
Stated as a dream, by the Charter Commander Jonathan Laureles, to bring a place for veterans to come together a support one another with common experiences. There were other posts in Johnson County, but not one in the county seat of Cleburne. Over a 5 year span, Commander Laureles held events and avtivities to bring awareness to this project until finally, enough members to get the Charter.
Now, a fully registered 501(c)19 Veteran Service Organization, the Allmon-Burgess Memorial Post is a reality. We have started a budding partnership with American Legion Post 50, also here in Cleburne, with the common goal of assisting veterans in need. In our startup, They were kind enough to open their doors to us while we got on our feet. Now we currently meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 5:00pm at the Chisolm Trail Rustic Venue.
On December 12, 2016 we joined the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce to bring us even more into the open and join the community in ways only they can do.
The Allmon-Burgess Memorial Post is named after two local veterans who gave thier lives for their community and country, SPC Jeremy Allmon and SSG Bryan Burgess. Click here to read about them and/or leave a memorial message.
